Your home is an investment. Protect it.
What home insurance covers
Dwelling
The physical structure you live in and any attached structures, like a garage or deck.
Other structures
Unattached structures on your property, such as swimming pools, sheds, fences and unattached garages.
Loss of use
If your home becomes uninhabitable this may cover the costs of staying in a hotel and any additional living expenses you incur.
Personal liability
This protects you if something happens to someone else or someone’s property, or other situations where you would be deemed at fault.
Personal property
The contents of your home, such as your appliances, furnishings and other personal property. Unlike your home, which is covered for open perils, your contents are covered for named perils only—occurrences specifically listed on the policy. If it’s not listed, it’s not covered.
What home insurance does not cover
may be added to your coverage with a policy endorsement:
tear
construction
